and turned off my BT vision box at the socket (as I have done many many times before) to save power. When I returned from the holiday last week I switched everything back on and now my BT Vision box hands on the multicoloured striped "BT Vision starting..." page for an age, then it comes up with the Error C01 message with the 'Quit client' button. when I press this the whole depressing cycle starts again...I have checked everything the troubleshoot guide and my broadband connection is working fine, I can go on the internet on my laptop just fine, same speeds as before.I have put this through as a help request, but haven't heard anything back (is this surprising? seems not when I read through on here...)Any thoughts anyone? Thanks Message 1 of 18 (13,724 Views) Reply Paul-Joyce Contributor Posts: 40 Registered: 27-01-2010 1 Re: Error C01 - Please help! Wanted to double check everything before I ring the helpline so I borrowed an extremely long ethernet cable today. Hey presto! everything works... so definitely the powerline adapters then. I'll call BT tomorrow. Although I'm not liking all the posts about replacement Powerline adapters being cr*p.... I guess I'll have to

I am with BT for Telephone and broadband but the helpdesk was no help. It will not continue the install process because of error codes. Turns out if you buy the box off ebay or get given the unit, with out going through the sales process and receiving the box from new from BT they are unwilling to bt vision help. The vision has to be registered with bt before they will decrypt the unit, otherwise completely useless.Diagnostic information it asks for the: specify service address ? and box certificate Not available?Anyone had the same problems and manage to get around this or as BT locked a very good freeview pvr unit to an unusable state!!!Any help would be great on this matter Back to top IP Logged pantsman28 Newbie Offline Radio & Telly Supporter Posts: 20 bt vision error Re: error C01 & C03 Reply #1 - Sep 3rd, 2007 at 11:44pm Following up on this tread i have spent many hours on the phone to bt and many more searching the net for answers. To activate the box you need to sign up for another 12 months broadband and even then they will only send out a new Vbox. This means my current box is totally dead. I cant even give the box to my kids to use as a freeview box and pvr. With this in mind, some major floor in the design and BT is not even taking into account the recycling issues.!!!! You say BT want you to sign up to a new 12 mths contract and send you a new box. Bonus I say . Some others on other forums have indicated that they have managed to get two Vboxes running. So why not sign up for another 12month contract, have BT vision activated on your line and have Two Vboxes running one for you
