A V04 error indicates that there could be a potential broadband speed issue or set up issue affecting your BT Vision service. We have a few simple checks that you can run to resolve this. Internal wiring can often be the cause of poor broadband speed and consequently a VO4 error with your BT Vision service, so it’s important to check that this is ok. Watch our video on checking your internal wiring to see if it is affecting your broadband speed. It’s also important to check that you have microfilters fitted correctly to every device plugged into the telephone socket. If your microfilters are not fitted correctly, or have developed a fault, they can also affect the speed on your line. Check out our video on how to fit a microfilter. If you have a socket like the one shown then you can try using a Broadband Accelerator – watch our video on fitting a broadband accelerator for more information. Problems with your phone line can cause issues with your broadband line speed and your BT Vision service, so it’s important to check this as well. Pick up the receiver and check if the line sounds clear as it normally should, and that there is no crackling or noise on the line. If you do find that there’s a problem then you can run an automated line test by going to bt.com/faults and clicking on ‘check my line now’. It's also worth re-booting your Home Hub and Vision box to make sure everything is synced up properly. To do this turn off your BT Home Hub and your BT Vision box.
