Recently I went on holiday for a few days and turned off my BT vision box

at the socket (as I have done many many times before) to save power. When I returned from the holiday last week I switched everything back on and now my BT Vision box hands on the multicoloured striped "BT Vision starting..." page for an age, then it comes up with the Error C01 message with the 'Quit client' button. when I press this the whole depressing cycle starts again...I have checked everything the troubleshoot guide and my broadband connection is working fine, I can go on the internet on my laptop just fine, same speeds as before.I have put this through as a help request, but haven't heard anything back (is this surprising? seems not when I read through on here...)Any thoughts anyone? Thanks Message 1 of 18 (13,726 Views) Reply Paul-Joyce Contributor Posts: 40 Registered: 27-01-2010 1 Re: Error C01 - Please help! This has https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision-box/Error-C01-Please-help/td-p/4287 happened before but we got it working after only a couple of tries. However, one of the Powerline Adapters just keeps flashing red up and down. This has never happened before and I'm wondering if its died. I really don't want to fork out £80 for a new one, especially after the problems we've had with this Vision box before.I have switched and unplugged everything about 5 times, so I don't think thats working! If anyone knows what https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision-box/Error-Message-C01/td-p/24524 to do, please reply! A great time for my box to go and die on me, during the World Cup. Message 1 of 4 (1,206 Views) Reply mcpaddy Aspiring Expert Posts: 229 Registered: 10-03-2010 0 Re: Error Message C01. There has been some issues with the comtrend adapters, if I was you I would ring bt to see if they will replace them for you as i'm sure they will if your still under contract with them Message 2 of 4 (1,176 Views) Reply stuartrogerson Guru Posts: 5,041 Registered: 27-01-2010 0 Re: Error Message C01. Our broadband is now running fine. I went through the steps on BT's online help before phoning support - and it was India, not Newcastle as someone on an earlier thread said. Anyway, the guy had me go bt vision through a host of the usual checks before instructing me to reset the box. Still no joy - now an engineer will call (sometime). Not a happy bunny as I thought it would be quicker and more cost effective for them to dispatch a new box. Oh well, let's WAIT and see when we'll be reconnected. I take it that you have tried linking the Vision box direct to the hub and cutting out any powerline adapters and/or tried different cables? stewM View Public Profile Find More Posts by stewM 09-02-2011, 11:57 #5 intercept Forum Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 311 I'm in agreement with stewM - check your local connectivity From frequenting this forum and the BT one for a while it seems clear that CO errors are COnnection errors and they are sequential i.e. CO1 = box to hub (including powerline units), CO2 = box to server, CO3 = box to account. I've never heard of a CO4... 1) Switch off hub, powerline units & Vision box 2) Disconnect and reconnect all cables 3) Switch on the hub & wait 5 mins 4) Switc

Apr 2013, 23:16 Hi peeps, i decided to see if i could gain BTfirmware, by hooking up my box to a work BTBB connection with a Btvision account active on it. Got the box to boot up great, interrupted the BB connection and box promptly sulked. Now my Brother has BTvision black box, with a working BTvision account and his box will boot WITHOUT a bt BB connection. His box is running very different firmware to ours and it is running linux. Now for the nasty Bit, we called BTvision's ''help'' line to explain that we had bought a box on ebay so he could use it as multiroom, (BT dont support this but lots of people do it) so we gave them the box mac code and everything else the tech asked for so we could download the latest firmware for it. Tried to convince the box on more than one occasion to download the latest firmware, and all it does it reload the windows CE. When explained this to the ''vision tech'' his response was, only boxes linked to the account will get the new firmware which allows the box to boot without the BB connection and allows an epg over the air. When asked why, the response we got was ''We know there are lots of unused vision boxes out there, thus having them still locked to our system will mean people will have to come back to BT to get the box to work'' So it seems that to get the latest firmware that allows the box to boot and run without a BB connection to BT, would be to get a box already ''opened'' on the new firmware. The vision tech did say off the record that eventually all the black B
