Citrix Xenapp Server Ssl Error 4 The Proxy Denied Access
PM I have rolled out a new client to our users - Online Plugin - Web v12.1.After doing this, certain users started to get the following error:Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. The Citrix SSL Relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40)On further investigation it turns out that they could not resolve the public name of the CSG server, this was because they did not have DNS forwarding set up correctly to resolve it via the public DNS.*The question is* Why is this required only when the client is updated to v12.1?What has changed in the way the client works? They previously had v10 client, with the same DNS setup - and it worked with no problemsNothing else has changed, the CSG is the same, web interface the same, XenApp servers the same etc.Any suggestions

The Citrix SSL relay http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/277969-ssl-error-40-when-client-v121-installed/ name could not be resolved (SSL error 40) Started by John Rehill , 07 February 2011 - 11:19 PM Login to Reply 6 replies to this topic John Rehill Members #1 John Rehill 13 posts Posted 07 February 2011 - 11:19 PM Hey all,Brand new to the whole citrix setup so please excuse my ignorance with the whole http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/281804-the-citrix-ssl-relay-name-could-not-be-resolved-ssl-error-40/ subject.I have XenApp 5 FP 3 setup and a farm running that is only publishing apps not a whole desktop.I access the farm using the Citrix Secure Gateway 3.2.On my internal network everything is running fine. I have the certs published for my servers and clients can access them no problem and launch the applications. Users access the CSG WI using the name server.FQDN address. However I've now been asked to allow external users access via the internet. No something I want to do but decision made. With one site I've gotten our network admin to enable a NAT rule so any traffic directed from a static IP will be allowed access to the CSG thinking that this would do the job. The site address they use will be citrix.my.company.name. This address is pointing to the SGs IP.When I access the site I get the WI prompt, can login and see the apps that the user is allowed to use however when I try to launch one, I get an error "The Cit

The Citrix SSL Relay name could not citrix xenapp be resolved (SSL error 40) Started by S Whorrall , 25 May 2004 - 06:42 PM Login to Reply 12 replies to this topic S Whorrall Members #1 S Whorrall 10 posts Posted 25 May 2004 - 06:42 PM Hello AllEnviron.all W2K3CSG 2.0MSAM 2.0 (SP1)MF XPe FR3Had lots of fun getting this far....I can currently connect fine (if a bit citrix xenapp error slow) to published apps, via MSAM through the GW client (home) - but only whilst not behind a client side firewall (work). From behind a FW with port 80 + 443 open in and out - I get:'The Citrix SSL Relay name could not be resolved (SSL error 40)'when I hit a pub app icon.I'm not using SSL Relay. On the MSAM site I have the Website Viewer installed. This is unable to retrieve the desired website when I log on from behind the Firewall (don't know if this is related - but seems strange).I retrieved the *.ica file that is passed to the local client when you invoke an app. They are the same. I thought I might find something like: ClientProxy=AutoBut it was my understanding that the Gateway Client sorted that for you.....?Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. 1336-51395-223426 Back to top JEFF PITSCH Members #2 JEFF PITSCH 7,670 posts Posted 25 May 2004 - 11:59 PM Sounds like DNS name resolution issues. SSL Error 40 with XenApp Plugin 12.1 over CSG (and Proxy) Started by Tobias Guttstein , 03 November 2010 - 02:02 PM Login to Reply 2 replies to this topic Tobias Guttstein Members #1 Tobias Guttstein 5 posts Posted 03 November 2010 - 02:02 PM Hi guys, after upgrading to the newest Citrix XenApp Online Plugin Version 12.1 the connection over a Citrix Secure Gateway always fails with the error "SSL Error 40 - The name of the Citrix SSL - Relay could not be resolved."We are using a proxy configuration script (WPAD) - but I also get this error with a direct proxy configuration. With a network monitor I see a DNS request to the domain controller for the external URL, but of course this could not be resolved.I tried to set a proxy configuration with a local security policy and the citrix adm-file, but I alway get the same error. After downgrading to version 12.0.3 everything works fine, again. Has someone a solution for this problem?Best Regards,Tobias 1363-276489-1507850 Back to top Ian Webley Members #2 Ian Webley 8 posts Posted 05 November 2010 - 01:40 PM Hi Tobias,We had the same issue using 12.1 client through proxy servers though it worked for external users without proxy servers. Our web browsers are configured using the FQDN name of the proxy load blancer
