Protocol Driver error Started by Mark MacDonald , 07 September 2010 - 06:49 PM Login to Reply Page 1 of 2 1 2 26 replies to this topic Mark MacDonald Members #1 Mark MacDonald 9 posts Posted 07 September 2010 - 06:49 PM We have XenApp 6 http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/273322-unable-to-launch-your-application-protocol-driver-error/ on 2008R2 and it was working until a few days ago. Opening any published app in Windows gives this: "Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. Protocol Driver error."The strange thing is that the published apps run fine from a linux box Firefox browser using the version 11 plugin. The Windows desktops with either 11 or 12 plugins / online app give the above error. I was thinking that changing the IP address of the server might have caused it, but it did work for a week before the problem above. I've tried both domain users and local anonymous users with no luck. This is just a simple single server install with Direct connections. (no Secure Gateway service)The XTE service is running (and it gives a different error if I disable XTE). Citrix PC Network Adapter not working Started by gary nohs , 06 January 2015 - 07:59 PM Login to Reply Page 1 of 2 1 2 21 replies to this topic citrix xenapp server Best Answer Alan Lantz , 09 January 2015 - 11:51 AM What I would try is removing all XenTool components in add/remove programs, set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 and run devmgmt.msc. Remove all network adapters. Reboot. Verify Realtek is detected, configure it, and verify network connectivity. Take a snapshot so I have a good network stack instance to fall back on. Then probably reboot again, install XenTools. If you see any prompts to reboot from Microsoft ignore them, only do restarts when the Citrix installer tells you too. Then cross your fingers and pray, regardless of your views on religion. Alan Lantz SysAdmin City of Rogers, AR Go to the full post
