To to do these tests, I am shutting down the License server and trying to access the application. However I am getting many issues.1. Applications are not launching and getting error "Citrix XenApp License Acuisition Error(500)"(Attached for your reference).2. It takes while to launch the application and throw this error(Performace degradation)In XenApp servers I can see " Error: 9017 This computer running Citrix XenApp will now stop accepting connections. Citrix XenApp license acquisition error (-18) Started by Imran Syed , 13 February 2015 - 05:41 AM Login to Reply Licensing 6 replies to this topic Imran Syed Members #1 Imran Syed 29 posts Posted 13 February 2015 https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/361752-citrix-xenapp-license-acquisition-error-18/ - 05:41 AM Hi All, We are running XA 6.5 on Win2008 R2 and the XenApps are streamed via PVS 7.1. We have a license server running version 11.11 and the XenApps currently point to the license server by its hostname and the licensing model currently in use is XenApp Concurrent Licensing (Configured via Domain GPO - Citrix policies). We attempted to do the following and failed. 1. Update the XenApps to point to the license server byits DNS Alias (CNAME) instead of the hostname 2. Update the licensing model from XenApp Concurrent to XenDesktop User/Device Existing users who were already logged on and using the published applications weren't impacted. New connection attempts failed with Citrix license acquisition error (-18) Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Both the cluster node servers are running Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise, Service pack 1 My environment has a third party DNS setup. After some searching I found out the license server that this problem can occur when I use a third-party server application for DNS resolution. But I could not apply the fix. It reports me “This hot fix is not applicable to your system”. May be I have already got the fix. Does anybody know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance. I had the same issue at a customer and their DNS Server does not Support dynamic updates, therefor we disabled it in the TCP/IP V4 NIC Settings. Sometime later the error was gone. Good Luck.
