The only issue is during startup I have to hit F1 to bypass the following; "Alert! Error initializing PCI Express bridge to PCIX. How old is your DEL? Have you added any hardware recently in the pcix slot? or PCI? A video card? Network card? I am inclined to believe it is related to hardware added in to the wrong slot and your computer is throwing this error> initializing pci express bridge to pcix. If you have added a card to the wrong slot>these are slots on the motherboard, there is also x64 bit. I just grabbed this for illustration purposes. Please confirm, also provide more details as to when it started

When I try to communicate with the chassis 1033 using its PXIe card my computer does not recognize it (the PCdisplays the following message during the booting step: "Alert! Error Initializing PCI express Slot 4). It worked just fine before, but the chassis was disconected with the PC turned on. I've read that this may cause communication crashes, but I did not error initializing pci find a good source to solve this problem. Could anybody help me with this issue? Thanks a lot!Victor Solved! However, is it possible that the PCIe can be damaged just by turning of the PXI chassis with the PC turned on? It does not sound reasonable to me, and I hope is just a software problem. 0 Kudos Message 2 of 4 (7,110 Views) Reply 0 Kudos Solution Accepted by topic author Victor- 08-27-2015 06:09 PM Re: Alert! Nic Bridge Failure + No Sound Started by bl bassist, January 2, 2011 2 posts in this topic bl bassist New Member Topic Starter Members 25 posts ID: 1 Posted January 2, 2011 Well first off the NIC Bridge Failure. I've been googling this problem for awhile and have attempted almost everything to try and fix it. When I first start up my comp it brings me to a black screen and it says "Alert! Error Initializing PCI Express Nic Bridge. NIC Failure" Then I have to press F1 for my comp to continue starting up. I bought a wireless network adapter and honestly just would like the error message to stop coming up every time I start up my computer. I've updated my Bios, turned the Integrated NIC to off and have done every reset and flash to the bios that I could think of but still no luck! Also I would have loved to just replace the NIC card but it is wired into the motherboard and not in a PCI slot. I also have a sound problem that has been going for a long time. I'm not really sure how to find out what sound card I have or if my driver is up to date but I remember trying to update my sound card awhile ago and I still could not get the comp to have sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Im not sure if you need my specs but here they are:Dell Generation 4 XPSBios: A07Intel Pentium 4 CP3 3.2GHZ4GB RamWindows XPS SP3 Thank you,-Mark
 Firefox Forum Deity Trusted Advisors 14,873 posts Location: USA ID: 2 Posted January 13, 2011 Hello....Just throwing this out there....Since this is a Dell, have you run the on board diagnostics on the motherboard? Is it still under warrenty?Have you called Dell f
