Newer model seems to have Micro SD memory slot, which enables the user to transfer data via Micro SD memory card. I suggest you create a new user (I'll call it newuser here) Logon as newuser and try connecting your MTP device. As "myself" I get that same error, as newuser , it works. I think something happened in the past copying $HOME around from one install to another. 2008-01-26 Posts: 58 mounting camera problem {solved} I just got myself Nikon d60 camera, but I am unable to get the pictures from it on the computer. The camera is not recognized automatically by the system. I got gphoto2 then and as root https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=54137 I can download pictures from it, but then I cannot open them with any https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/2010-08/msg01348.html program - be it feh or mirage.
