Ned Murphy Jul 3, 2011 4:39 AM (in response to sfxworksTrue) Your best bet might be to contact customer/technical support, or if you found a posting discussing your problem, send a private message to whomever was inquiring. These are user to user forums, and the occasional visits by Adobe employees tend to occur only for postings where software bugs of new releases pop up. 1 person found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Maybe that has something to do with it as well. –stevenvh Jan 28 '13 at 8:21 hmm really? I'm actually on windows 7-64bit... –user115422 Feb 4 '13 at 23:37 @fermioniod - There seem to be several factors involved, so same OS version and same CS version don't guarantee anything. I posted this 2 and a half years ago and haven't found a definite solution, neither here, nor elsewhere on the 'Net. One often recommended solution is to reinstall JRE (didn't work for me). Adobe remains silent. :-( –stevenvh Feb 6 '13 at 9:40 | show 2 more comments 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote I also got this when I launched Flash CS5 and found that it was due to recent JAVA upgrade. Fortunately, I backed up my HD files using Time Machine and went back and found an earlier preference file. Here's what I did. On the Mac I replaced the JAVA Preference version 13.6.0 with an earlier version of 13.5.0 located at: local_HD/Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences After replacing this file, the error message went

Changing the amount of memory in the jvm.ini file to -Xmx1024m didn't help but changing it to 512 worked!Alan Klement+010 AntwortenThis usually means you don't have Java installed / activated. Are you using Flash Professional?Iain error initializing Lobb+010 Antworten+Vic Cekvenich You can't really do layout with sprite sheets, and unity doesn't target Flash yet.Tony Patino+010 AntwortenI have at times encountered this problem, and just as mysteriously as it arrives, so does it leave. I can't point to any one action that consistently solves it, but I would try reinstalling any java runtime you error initializing java may be running, and of course rebooting the system.Iain Lobb+010 Antworten+Tony Patino for me, closing all my open programs, then starting Flash, seeems to work. If I open Flash when FlashDevelop/Spotify/Chrome (not sure which) is open, it fails.Iain Lobb+010 Antworten+Vic Cekvenich I'm talking about things like making a menu with buttons in it, etc.Brandon Ellis+010 AntwortenCS 5.5 on a quad core mac with 8 gigs of ram and a terrabyte HD. Was the strangest thing but really, setting the jvm memory to 512 took care of it for me.Alan Klement+010 AntwortenI like Vic's comments ;) They make me think about how a different approach might look like.Iain Lobb+010 Antworten+Antonio Holguin CS5.5 - Vista, Dual Core, 4GBs. First got the error after editing the amount of memory available to the JVM in the Flash config.Iain Lobb+010 Antworten+Alan Klement Yeah I don't mind. I could conceivably make a little AIR app to layout menus/buttons etc quite easily. Textfields and nesting would be the tricky things.Kommentar hinzufügen...

In Windows right click: my computer > properties > advanced > environment vars Make a new var: JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS With value: Xmx1024M Then project publishes with optimized byte code on apparently (Although I don't really understand this) 2: Another was to turn off "reduce files size and increase performance" check box in the AS3 settings. 3: A third was to delete the ASO files from the control menu None of the above worked for me (They might for you). I was working on a particularly complicated and long flash animation (30MB FLA file - 1MB SWF - 4 minutes animation run time) Solution that worked for me: I realised that as some of my movie clip symbols ran for a huge number of frames (to ensure nothing vanished unexpectedly during playback) and these symbols were placed in a parent timeline which ran for less frames, when I increased the number of frames in the parent timeline the error at publishing time went away! I find this flash issue odd because I have had this frame situation before and it never caused problems. But hey it's all working now! Hope this helps someone! 3D Studio Max, Vray and motion graphics specialist Elyarch Ltd - London UK Reply With Quote « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Posting Permissions You may not post new threads You may
