Servers The Dell Error Code E0876 on the PowerEdge 4600 The Dell Error Code E0876 on the PowerEdge 4600 By Kammy Pow eHow Contributor Kammy Pow Follow Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save rackmount server farm datacenter image by Adryn from Fotolia.com The E0876 error on Dell servers such as the PowerEdge 4600 indicates that there is a malfunction between the power and power supply. Replacing a faulty power supply, power distribution board or system board resolves the problem. The Issue Error code E0876 displays the message "POWER PS n" on the LCD screen beneath the bezel indicator of the PowerEdge 4600. This indicates that there is an issue with the power source that provides power for the server. Checking the Power Supplies The error might occur because of a faulty power supply. The server normally requires three power supplies to function. Check that the cables are secured to each power supply and that the power supplies are properly installed. If this does not resolve the issue, test each power supply and replace those that are faulty. Replacing the Power Distribution Board If replacing the power supply does not resolve the error, swap out the power distribution board connected to the server on the system chassis. Carefully open the bezel and remove the system components, making sure to disconnect any attached peripherals, electrical power and cable connectors. Replacing the System Board If the error message continues to be displayed after replacing both the power supplies and the power distribution board, replace the motherboard on the PowerEdge 4600.
