Verified dell poweredge 2800 ebay Answer Posted by cdprince on 8 Nov 2013 12:59 Verified Answer Verified by McMac33 We received a bunch of old 1950 servers and many had the board on the front left, that plugs into the front left side of the box go bad. We ended up replacing the Capacitors large green. Capacitors in general go bad the quickest. All Replies Posted by at5147 on 30 Dec 2010 12:18 The internal storage controller sits in the front left of this system in a sideplane. Most likely, either the sideplane or the controller itself needs to be replaced. You could also try and BIOS and BMC (DRAC if present) first to see if that helps. I also noticied that it was "internal storage slot" not device.. So I tried to reset the left side panel and still did not work. I'll try to use one from another server and repost. The weird thing there, is that there aren't http://serverfault.com/questions/533388/dell-poweredge-2950-pcie-training-error-no-pcie-cards-inside any PCIe cards in the 3 slots. The rightmost (bottom, in the picture) slot however, seems to come out of the board as an expansion of some sort? Could that be a problem? In case I'm missing something really obvious, I've included a shot of the whole system. dell-poweredge pci-express share|improve this question asked Aug 23 '13 at 23:30 JShoe 10314 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted The PCI riser card right in the middle? Yank it out. If your server boots the it's either a bad PCI riser, or the PCI slot has "gone bad". I know there's a not-noobish explanation for that, but I don't remember it. If your server doesn't boot with the riser out the it's time for a new motherboard/server. share|improve this answer answered Aug 24 '13 at 0:12 Sammitch 1,371724 This is correct. Get the riser out of the equation. In my experience, riser cards don't fail too often. It's probably the motherboard. –ewwhite Aug 24 '13 at 0:14 1 @ewwhite the reason I mentioned the PCI slot "going bad" is it seems to happen on every single R200 I've ever worked with. Even if you take a riser out of
