Got another exactly the same server and no issues whatsoever. Also I read the similar posting about 2650 and the solution was to update BIOS. Is 2650 so different from 2600 ? BIOS for 2600 is at A14 and 2650 is at A20. Just wandering. I will try the Service and Diag utilities ver 4.3 and seeif that would upgrade BIOS. Thx for any suggestions. Posted by barhampa on 10 Jul 2005 3:04 If you are running an external tape drive off a PCI SCSI controller try reseating the controller card or moving it to another slot. This may help isolate the problem. It may just be a seating issue. Like 0 Reply You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. The server has only original controllers, no add-on card i.e. SCSI. Backup is done over the network. Network card driver ? Hmmm... But would that bring down the server to a total crush situation that looks very much like a hardware problem (orange light on the front and no signs of life). Still trying to fix this one.
