Dell Poweredge 2950 Pcie Training Error Internal Storage Slot
PCIe Training Error: Internal Storage Device I looked at the manual, but it didn't have an entry specifically for this, so I tried to do what was similar. I have removed and reseated my expansion card risers, with no luck.

Verified Answer Posted by cdprince on 8 Nov 2013 12:59 Verified Answer Verified by McMac33 We received a bunch of old 1950 servers and many had dell poweredge 2900 drivers the board on the front left, that plugs into the front left side of the box go bad. We ended up replacing the Capacitors large green. Capacitors in general go bad the quickest. All Replies Posted by at5147 on 30 Dec 2010 12:18 The internal storage controller sits in the front left of this system in a sideplane. Most likely, either the sideplane or the controller itself needs to be replaced. You could also try and BIOS and BMC (DRAC if present) first to see if that helps. I also noticied that it was "internal storage slot" not device.. So I tried to reset the left side panel and still did not work. I'll try to use one from another server and repost. When I boot the machine it stops before completing the POST. It says http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/956/t/19359415 System Halted. Then it gives the error "PCIe Training Error: Internal Storage Slot" I read different forums online and I have it narrowed down to three cards that are possibly giving the problem to the best of my knowledge. When reading online no one stated which card it is exactly. Most people buy all three cards and replace all three so they do not waste time on the repair. I would to like to know which card it actually is rather then order https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27451368/Dell-Power-Edge-1950-System-Halt-PCIe-Training-Error-Internal-Storage-Slot.html all three and replace all three. I like to know what is actually causing the problem and/or the best way to trouble shoot it. By reading online, the devices that are most likely to cause this error is the PERC5 Raid Controller, the PCI-E Riser Card, or the Backplane Board. Most of the posts said it was not the riser cards but no one took the time to trouble shoot the problem. I removed and reseated the riser cards and got the same results. Your help would be greatly appreciated. If you are indeed using this card, the array information is stored on the drives so you should not lose anything. unseat the card, boot the server, if

If the problem persist, try to completely remove the riser card. Now it should work. In such case, the riser card and the motherboard as well may be damaged. Be Sociable, Share!
