for SQL it HALTED during a database restore with an error CPU BUS Error e1410 and an e1420. I turned off the server. Unplugged the power and started the server back on and everything has been fine. Should I be concerned or was this a possible fluke? It seems these CPU Bus errors can be random... Or be caused by the Broadcom Nic drivers which I did use the latest 2011 version and not the originally shipped version when setting up Windows Server Standard 2003 R2... Thank you! 0 Question by:tacshose1 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bytacshose1 Well Prime95 caused another error and now the server will not boot, guess I'll return it. Go to Solution 11 Comments Message Author Comment by:tacshose12012-04-20 It seems to almost predictably occur when I use my Seagate USB 2.0 external drive for backing up data is my only thought. If I plug it in after Windows boots it will crash upon heavy transfer. If I plug the drive in before turning the server on, it seems to work fine. This could be coincidental I have only done this about 8 times. Prime95 torture test is running great and no crashes. I would think this would cause a pretty quick hardware problems. So drivers? USB? Real hardware problems I should stress over? 0 Message Accepted Solution by:tacshose12012-04-20 Well Prime95 caused another error and now the server will not boot, guess I'll return it. 0 LVL 32 Overall: Level 32 Server Hardware 25 Message Active today Expert Comment by:PowerEdgeTech2012-04-20 I would recommend making sure your system firmware (BIOS, ESM/BMC, RAID, NIC, and DRAC) are up to date to ensure maximum system stability. The LCD lights blue to indicate a normal operating condition, and lights amber to indicate an error condition. The LCD scrolls a message that includes a status code followed by descriptive text. The following section lists the LCD status messages that can occur and the probable cause for each message. The LCD messages refer to events recorded in the System Event Log (SEL). For information on the SEL and configuring system management settings, see the systems management documentation. NOTE: If your system fails to boot, press the System ID button for at least five seconds until an error code appears on the LCD.
