Geüpload op 2 feb. 2011In this micro Final Cut tutorial, Larry Jordan -- http://www.larryjordan.biz/ -- answers the question, "When I save a Final Cut project as a self-contained QuickTime movie, I get a .mov file. Sometimes DVD Studio Pro lets me import this .mov file and sometimes it won't, yet in most cases it's a .mov file. Why does DVD Studio Pro reject it?"Learn more on this topic, by checking out this dynamic tutorial from Larry Jordan:Create a Blu-ray Disc for HD Videohttp://ww
• PRINT • NEXT >> • H.264 for DVD Studio Pro, incompatible format?? thoughts on this? by Dennis Noel Gomez on Mar 5, 2008 at 12:31:07 am Hi all, I'm currently authoring a HD DVD in a DVD-R, following the "walk through" in this link: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/hd_dvds_on_sd_dvds_young.html What I did is I exported my project (edited in Apple ProRes 422 HQ) to a .mov file using "Export as quicktime movie" in FCP, from there I dragged the .mov file into compressor and compressed it using the "HD DVD: H.264 60 minutes" . Now I have the file, and I go to DVD Studio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFRRS9mlBWI Pro, put all the settings correct (HD DVD, resolution:1440 x 1080, etc), but when I try to import the .mov H.264 file created from compressor into my assets window, or even directly on the track timeline, DVD SP says "Incompatible Format". I don't understand why this is the happening, can anyone help me out as to what I should do? When I export in compressor using "HD https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/55/859255 DVD: MPEG 30 minutes", the created file imports fine in DVD SP, but I would like to use the H.264 so I can store more footage in the DVD-R. Any advise would be much appreciated. From compressor, using the HD DVD H.264 setting, the resulting H.264 file can't be imported into DVD Studio Pro. I'm honestly not so sure what to do anymore, I followed the tutorial on this: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/hd_dvds_on_sd_dvds_young.html link, but still didn't work. Do you have any other suggestions? I need my final output to be HD DVD, not SD DVD, but I'm using DVD-R. In today's blog, I am going to specifically talk about .scc files being used in Apple's DVD Studio Pro. Steps for importing an .scc file into DVD Studio Pro: Select Outline tab > Tracks folder > Track1 > Select Other tab (in Inspection window) > Select Choose > locate .scc file > Select Okay. Either field 1 or field 2 will be populated, but most likely not both. DVD Studio Pro > Preferences > Encoding > MPEG-2 SD > Select desired timecode in the start TC field > Check or uncheck the Drop frame box accordingly. You must let your captioning company know if your project is in Drop, Non Drop, FILM, PAL, et cetera. Most captioning companies' default time code is Drop frame. Highlight the actual video content/track on the timeline > Right click the timecode directly to the right of the yellow playhead and purple chapter marker > Select Zero-Based Timecode or Asset-Based Timecode. I strongly recommended that all timecode options (there are many) be changed to zero-based, so that the captioning company can create a file that corresponds to these settings. The captioning company will probably need to have the exact timecode of the first word spoken on the video so they can match their caption file to your project. To view captions from your computer using DVD player: Open DVD Player > Preferences > Features > Closed Captions > On. I recommend that you burn a closed captioned DVD and play it out of a DVD player, viewing it on a TV. Viewing the captions from your computer will sometimes not play roll-up captions nor pop-on captions accurately, if at all. 0000 This entry was posted in Closed Captioning, DVD & Blu-ray and tagged .scc, Abercap, Aberdeen Captioning, Apple, caption file, captioning, captions, DVD & Blu-ray, DVD Authoring, DVD Player, DVD Studio Pro, how to import caption file into authoring system, pop on captions, roll up captions, time code, timecode, Video.
