Read here about * about quality media * and try allways to use first quality group.Besides that, DVDSP is not the best burning software at all. My prefered workflow is * Creating Disc Image in DVDSP * and burning it with Toast or Disk Utility.Hope that helps !Alberto Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only. I feel like I've read every forum, watched every video and no solutions are availing themselves. I've authored a DL disk in DVDSP. It has 2 video layers that share the same audio track. Each video layer is approx 100 minutes. I've exported both video files from FCP, dvd studio pro multiple times to make sure the GOP structure matches. Other items on the disk are simple a small slideshow, and some simple menus. I've been able to successfully follow instruction to set my own breakpoints and have been able to build and format the production to hard drive. But when I try to burn it using Toast to disk it fails and says: MEDIUM ERROR Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03 When I try to build it in DVDSP I get: Unknown device error (0x09, 0x01) - to which it was suggest that I try different media, I have... same problem exists. It has been suggested that maybe my burner is dead - yet I can still burn DVD-5 just fine. Any advice you can give would be key. This isn't the first time I've built a DL DVD in this program, but it's the first time I've ever had these issues. Much appreciated... Computer specs: MacBook Pro 2.3Ghz Intel i7 8GB DDR3 ram Exported from FCP 7 DVDSP 4.2.2 Files are all housed on a Thunderbolt external drive. Maybe you all can help. First off, one of my two superdrives failed to burn DVDs. Just a total failure. It would get to like 99.9% on the "formatting" progress bar, and then i would get an "unknown device error. (0x73, 0x03.)" From what I've read, this means either that the drive is dying or the lasers are dirty. Right? More perplexing though, is my 2nd problem. I compressed 3 different timelines to m2v for burning 3 unique DVDs. they export fine, and i bring those files into dvd studio pro and begin burning. at this point, i get my aforementioned drive failure. I go in to "advanced burn" so that i can specify the other superdrive to burn the disc. i do so, and it burns successfully. now the weird part... i prep the other two DVDs and go through this same process. each simulates and burns successfully. however, when played back through a DVD player, ALL THE DISCS ARE THE SAME. i want to reiterate... each disc had unique video tracks that simulated successfully prior to burning. i have never had to use the 'advanced burn' function before, so i am guessing that this is the cause of this seeming witchcraft. to fix this one, i ended up "building" the DVDs to VIDEO_TS folders and burning in toast. but i really need to figure this one out as i do a lot of burning for clients. one other thing i noticed, both drives are labeled identically on the adva
