RavagedHand Level 1 (0 points) Q: DVD Studio log says "Bitrate too high" DVD Studio log says "Bitrate too high" and cancels burn process. Do the videos need to be re-exported, or can DVDSP be told to accept a higher bitrate? This is the first time I've used an external burner, so I'm thinking it's probably this, but then why does it only say Bitrate Too High in DVDSP, and not something more specific to the burner? Any thoughts? G5, Mac OS X (10.4.11) Posted on Jun 12, 2011 6:19 AM I have this question too by MikeyBouchereau,Solvedanswer MikeyBouchereau Level 1 (30 points) A: It sounds like you are encoding the video through DVD Studio pro, when doing this its possible to go over the DVD Spec bit rate (9Mbps). Go to your DVD Studio Pro preferences and in the encoding tab lower the bit rate.Depending on the length of your project you may need to lower both the average and max bitrate. For something under 90 min the attached image has settings you can use.For better quality you may want to change the Mode from one pass to 2 pass VBR but remember this will take longer. Ideally doing all this in compressor will usually yeld better results because it has the ability to use frame controls and so on.Hope this helps. What IS the bitrate of your assets? VBR or CBR? Length of content? Compressed in Compressor or direct import? In any case the video bitrate should not be set higher than 7.5 mb/s (better 7.2 - 7.3). Even though you limit the bitrate there maybe spikes exceeding those limits.mish Helpful (1) Reply options Link to this post by RavagedHand, RavagedHand Jun 12, 2011 7:19 AM in response to mishmumken Level 1 (0 points) Jun 12, 2011 7:19 AM in response to mishmumken Thanks for your response. That's what I thought (about the burner having nothing to do with it). I exported a Quicktime from FCP and brought it into DVD Studio Pro manually. One file is 11GB and the

What is your muxing bitrate set at? Go under file/preferences/ then the m-peg2 sd tab. What is the "Bit rate" and "Max bit rate" set at. A good setting for these two are 5.5 and 7.2 respectively. I will try your settings but I have a hunch, it is the menu design...  I may have to really put some extra care in designing  the Menu...  I had no glitches until I finished the Menu layout & design come to think of it... Appreciate the settings advice I will give them a try before I redesign the Menu for the DVD. I burned off a dvd with out the menu's & it worked fine... I guess I have to maybe look at the bitrate for the menu's
