I keep getting a "compiler file error, build cancelled" when I try and burn. When I simulate it plays fine in DVD Studio Pro4. Any advice on how to trouble shoot what is wrong? I've used compressor to export my files from final cut 6.0.6. In compressor I choose DVD best quality 90 minutes , mpeg2 and AC3 audio. I am working on a Mac OS x 10.7.4, intel core i5.Any advice? Thank you! If the m2v and AC3 files that were output from Compressor will play (separately) in Quick Time Player, it would indicate the problem doesn't lie with Compressor and would point to DVDSP - possibly a corrupt preference. If you don't have it, download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager .It will find all the relevant preference files and safely trash them. Then try the build process again.Good luck.Russ Posted on Aug 6, 2012 5:09 AM See the answer in context Close Q: My DVD wont burn? Bypass the menus (delete the menu in the graphical tab to save time). See if it will build in the new project.Russ Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by Rachael Levine, Rachael Levine Aug 5, 2012
I never had a problem authoring a dvd until tonight. I exported a 30 minute file out of final cut then imported the file into dvd studio pro. I have set my encode bit rate to 6.6 and 7.8(max). I set the "first play" to be the track and when I click burn dvd I get "Compiler File Error" please see log. Any one have any ideas what the issue is? This was supposed to be an easy project, errrrr! Any information would be greatly appreciated. screen shots attached Curt C. Once was while using a files from a usb key, and the another time was when my project files were scattered around my hard drive. After centralizing all https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4180570?start=0&tstart=0 my files in one location on my hard drive (in both situations) it fixed the problem. Not sure if that helps or not. I've also heard about this problem in imacs due to memory leaks. I think the fix for that was to just build it to your hard drive and not click burn. Instead burn with toast. Are you clicking burn or build? Or have you tried both? Reply Quote Re: "Compiler File Error" IN DVD studio Pro (February 26, 2009 06:46PM) cchampag well, I don't have toast so http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,9486,9497 I guess I can't try that. I typically just click burn and it builds on its own then burns afterwords...I'm not familiar with any other method to be honest. Cheers Alexander Reply Quote Re: "Compiler File Error" IN DVD studio Pro (February 26, 2009 06:28PM) cchampag Well, A dvd I sent out last week that was succesful;did not have a menu on it. I formatted it the same way as the one I am doing tonight. I did try to burn another dvd of the one that was succesful from last week and I still get compiler filer error. I am moving the .mov file to my desktop now to see if its my drive. or Maybe dvd studio pro file is corrupted... Is there a similar method of doing this for DVD studio pro? I was having an issue even getting this project to save because it was originally created in another account on the same computer. Finally got it to save and was able to work on it, but it won't let me build. I get this dvd studio pro maddeningly non-specific error message. Try creating a new folder on your desktop to build to- that ought to work temporarily - the real solution is to work out the appropriate read/write permissions from an administrator level on your machine.
