I exported my project (edited in Apple ProRes 422 HQ) to a .mov file using "Export as quicktime movie" in FCP, dvd studio pro video format from there I dragged the .mov file into compressor and compressed it using the "HD DVD: H.264 60 minutes" . Now I have the file, and I go to DVD Studio Pro, put all

the settings correct (HD DVD, resolution:1440 x 1080, etc), but when I try to import the .mov H.264 file created from compressor into my assets window, or even directly on the track timeline, DVD SP says "Incompatible Format". I don't understand why this is the happening, can anyone help me out as to what I should do? When I export in compressor using "HD DVD: MPEG 30 minutes", the created dvd studio pro incompatible format mpeg-2 file imports fine in DVD SP, but I would like to use the H.264 so I can store more footage in the DVD-R. Any advise would be much appreciated. From compressor, using the HD DVD H.264 setting, the resulting H.264 file can't be imported into DVD Studio Pro. I'm honestly not so sure what to do anymore, I followed the tutorial on this: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/hd_dvds_on_sd_dvds_young.html link, but still didn't work. Do you have any other suggestions? I need my final output to be HD DVD, not SD DVD, but I'm using DVD-R. Am I wrong in assuming that the fact that it was created on a PC is irrelevant? Isn't an MPEG and MPEG no matter what platform it was created on? I copied it over to my Mac mini through my LAN, so it is now using the Mac file system. It also plays on my Mac in Quicktime. So, I'm assuming it's the way http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/250519-Incompatible-format-error-in-DVD-Studio-Pro-4 it was encoded that is somehow incompatible. Here is a screen capture of the specs of the file, obtained using VirtualDub-MPEG2: The MPEG was encoded in ProCoder2 from a DV AVI file which was transferred via Firewire from my Sony D8 camera. I also tried to encode the original AVI using Compressor, but the file was greyed out and I couldn't select it. Does Compressor not recognize such files? The MPEG2 was greyed out as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! But when I import the file into DVDSP, I get a message saying "Incompatible Format". In the User Manual for Compressor there's a whole section on how to encode H.264 for DVDSP, which I simply followed, and I guess it should be possible. What's going wrong? My original footage is in ProRes 4.2.2, 1440x1080 50i. How can I compress this into an H.264 file that will be accepted by DVDSP? I would be grateful if someone could help me out. I am using: - FCP 6.0.6 - Compressor 3.0.5 - DVDSP 4.2.1 - QuickTime 7.6.2 Thanks for reading and have a nice day! Last edited by Singingeye; 08-26-2009, 04:37 PM.
