Dvd Studio Pro Video Bitrate Too High Error
rgo Hi Ken I am building a Dance Recital video. Show one went smooth Show two has continued to crash with the error message - "Video Bit Rate Too High" I don't think I've done anything different. In fact, building these DVDs like this have been simple and smooth until now. 1. Changed the Bit Rate in the DVDSP4 twice, no 3 times, same ERROR 2. Changed the Bit Rate in Compressor 4 a couple of times...same error message. 3. Don't know if this error begins inside of FCP X, but why would this be so, when SHOW 1 went smooth....same gear...same same. Any ideas out there ? I am out of it. I tried 2 different DVDSP templates, same error message. Strange, as the other DVDs all did the same thing and never failed, yet this one did. By changing the AIFF audio to AAC audio, it worked. AIFF is a VBR audio codec and some AIFF files can produce maximum Bit Rate peaks that are way beyond the highest Bit Rate that is accepted by the DVD specification (which is 20 years old BTW). When you import such an audio file in a DVDSP project DVDSP will refuse to build the project and it will produce this "Video Bit Rate Too High" message that actually does not mean anything. The solution is to convert the problematic AIFF file (or any external AIFF audio files for that matter) to AAC,

I have 128 min 28 sec of video (total) encoded in Compressor (from Final Cut) with 2 pass vbr - 6.8Mbps - 8.0Mbps. http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,44486,44494 7GOP, IBP. The project includes 55 jpg images which (before encoding through DVD studio) are 60.5MB. Upon importing the assets, the status bar in DVD studio indicates that I have 6.0GB of information on the disc. I have no audio in the project yet. I will be encoding to AC3 this evening, but I wanted to test the video build first. During the build, I get the message "Compiler - Video Bit Rate Too High". It is happening at the point in the build "Muxing http://www.lafcpug.org/phorum/read.php?5,194941,247582 VTS_01_1.VOB" What am I missing? Thanks, as always, for your help. As I was sending them for replication on dual layer, I pushed that to 8.0. That being said, I've been doing tests and it seems that it may be a dual layer problem. Too much information in each VOB. I'll post an update if I find a configurat

"Is a higher bitrate always better?" "Why do I get an error telling me my bitrate is too high?" All of that depends. If you aim too high, you may be setting yourself up for problems later on, ranging from incompatibility with many DVD players to an inability to build your final disc after you've spent all that time preparing it. Either way, the result can cost you time or money. Avoid that hassle by planning your bitrates in advance. For most people, a maximum bitrate seems relevant only when considering whether the content will be able to fit on a disc. That, of course, is easy enough to figure out. But regardless of what fits on a disc, there are still limitations imposed on you by DVD players in general that aren't capable of displaying content beyond a certain bitrate. And the problem isn't just with the video streams in your tracks. It also involves audio streams, multiple angles and even subtitles. We'll take a look at some of the issues involved and cover what you should know before you encode to save yourself time and frustration. And, at the end of this article, I'll show you how to reencode assets that have been processed through DVD Studio Pro's background encoding without having to go in and replace all your assets manually in
