Dvd Studio Pro Encoding Error
Encoding error in DVD Studio Pro by matthew ackerman on Nov 17, 2008 at 12:51:19 am If any DVDSP users could help me out with this one I'd really appreciate it. I'm getting no responses in the Apple forum. I get an error when I try to encode/burn my video. it just says: Error while encoding file:/Users/matt/Desktop/indian party video 2 (first part) The problem is with the video asset but I don't know what it could be. The video won't even encode when I turn on background encoding. Instead of getting a green light next to it in the assets window I get this: "E:" with an empty loading bar next to it. The estimated encoded size for the whole DVD is only 2 GB Heres how I have the encoding set up: Video standard: NTSC Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Feild order: Auto Encode mode: Two pass VBR Bit Rate: 5.5 Max Bit rate: 7.2 Motion estimation: Best Anyone know what could be stopping it from encoding? Whenever I've run into that, I've pretty much just re-encoded the video. If you have lot of navigation and stuff in there, you could re-encode it with the same exact name and place it in the same spot and then reopen DSP. That might work. What type of video file was it? I never had a problem authoring a dvd until tonight. I exported a 30 minute file out of final cut then imported the file into dvd studio pro. I have set my encode bit rate to 6.6 and 7.8(max). I set the "first play" to be the track and when I click burn dvd I get "Compiler File Error" please see log. Any one have any ideas what the issue is? This was supposed to be an easy project, errrrr! Any information would be greatly appreciated. screen shots attached Curt C. Once was while using a files from a usb key, and the another time was when my project files were scattered around my hard drive. After centralizing all my files in one location on my hard drive (in both situations) it fixed the problem. Not sure if that helps or not. I've also heard about this problem in imacs due to memory http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,9486,9497 leaks. I think the fix for that was to just build it to your hard drive and not click burn. Instead burn with toast. Are you clicking burn or build? Or have you tried both? I typically just click burn and it builds on its own then burns afterwords...I'm not familiar with any other method to be honest. First, I'm trying to encode 16x9 (1920x1080p) quicktime source material files to mpeg-2 for distribution on DVD. Every time I try, I either get my dvd studio pro 16x9 source video resized and squashed up to a 4:3 image or it ends up being 4:3 in letterbox. However, I want the finished file to be anamorphic so that it fills the screen on an HDTV. How do I do this? Second, when I do get a finished m2v file and I try to open it in Apple's DVD studio pro, I get an error message that says it's an "Incompatible Format". Any one else have the same issue? This software is useless to me if I can't author in DVD studio. You will not be able to output a 1920x1080 file if you are creating a file to be burned to DVD. The DVD standard mandates a 720x480 frame size. However, you can choose whether it outputs a 4x3 or a 16x9 by modifying the Pixel Aspect Ratio in the advanced preset settings. Reply Wi
