However, when the agent is scheduled I get the following error: "Error: 4005 - Notes error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password". It errors at the "Call o.ExtractFile(..." line above. I've tried changing the security level on the agent to "Allow restricted operations with full admin rights" and "Run as Web user" but the error persists. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. lotus-notes lotus-domino lotus lotusscript share|improve this question asked Nov 14 '12 at 21:14 Ryan Buening 225320 1 Does the server has access to the file share? –Per Henrik Lausten Nov 14 '12 at 21:27 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted This appears to be a network error and not an error within Lotus Notes. Cause The file name limit on the Notes Macintosh client is 31 characters. For Notes releases 6.5x, 7.x and 8.0.x, the Domino Designer Help documents the character name limit. For the Notes Macintosh client the limit is not dependent on http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21279400 the Mac OS version's file name limit. From the Designer Help entry "Table of Notes and Domino known limits": Characters in names File names: On Windows and UNIX platforms minimum of 255 and/or OS limits; on local Macintosh workstation 31 Answer This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# BHUY6P8F5Q; however it was found that Notes was working as currently designed, and there are no current plans to revise this behavior. My first suspicion would be the write permissions on the folder you're writing to. When you run from the client, the write operation is being performed with your network credentials. When it runs from the server, there's no one "logged on" so there are no individual credentials to use. Either have the write permissions on the folder made less restrictive, or check the event viewer for the write failure and find the ID that's trying to perform the write operation and grant it permission.
