Resolving the problem Perform the following procedure to fix the issue: If you check the registry you will find [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\NotesFile\Shell\open\command] @="C:\\notes\\Notes.exe \"%1\"" You may notice http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21249723 that the %1 has quotes around it. Remove them, but keep the %1 in there. correct entry should be: @="C:\\notes\\Notes.exe %1" End users action on Windows XP SP2: Open up your windows explorer and go to TOOLS -> FOLDER OPTIONS; Switch to FILE TYPES tab; Select the .NSF item and click in ADVANCED button; On the next screen, hit EDIT ... button; Change the "application used to perform action" field value to: C:\lotus\notes\notes.exe %1 Hit OK, Apply and OK again to validate and close the folder option windows.
