Notes Error File Truncated
notes error; trunctated Technote (troubleshooting) Problem You attempt to archive any email message to one or more archive file and receive a "File truncated - file may have been damaged" error message. Symptom You are able access any of the archive files without issue and open archived messages. The error is generated only when you attempt to actually archive documents to one of the archive files. The error happens regardless of which archive file is used. The error also occurs if you create a new archive file and attempt to archive documents to it Cause In this case a corrupted archive log file was the cause of the problem Diagnosing the problem - Disable Archive logging (Actions > Archive > Settings > Advanced > uncheck "Log all archiving activity to a log application) and try to archive again. - If successful, this indicates there is a problem with the log file. Resolving the problem Delete the archive log, which it is located in the ..\data\archive\ directory by default. Re-enable logging if desired, and the log file will be recreated. There is however no error when the document is opened by finding the document by scrolling to it in a view. The error is "Server Error: File truncated - file may have been damaged" If the documents open without any error when not using the search - am http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/0/387254b7934f55ad85256ee00075590b?OpenDocument I right in assuming that this implies that the documents are not corrupt. I will appreciate if anyone can explain why the error is occuring and what is the solution to fix the error. Thanks in advance Alpna Return to top Server Error: File Truncated - file... Server Error: File truncated - file may have been damaged."When this occurs, you observe that the affected document contains SP1720248 data in one of its fields. Usually, this happens when a bad sector or block of hard drive has corrupted the Notes document.User ActionTry one of the suitable solutions:(1) If possible, delete the damaged document.(2) Execute fixup command to Repair Lotus Notes database. (did not work for you)(3) Make a new database replica and use it to replace the corrupted database. Since the corrupted document has not been replicated, this will be recreated when you will again perform the LEI activity.(4) Use your previous good backup to restore the Notes database.(5) Use a third-party tool to Repair NSF File. Some actions from here:- http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/other/other-aa/lotus-notes/205-names-nsf-being-cor
