Solved Lotus Notes Database "Invalid NSF Version" Posted on 2015-06-02 Lotus IBM 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 1,452 Views Last Modified: 2015-07-02 I created an Archive for a user on my client running Notes 9.0 This was because his mail was large and he didn't want to give up his laptop for a few hours. So I've copied the Archive to the user's PC but when he tries to open it he receives the error "Invalid NSF Version". He is running the 8.5.3 FP6 (The corporate standard). I thought this might have something to do with the "ODS"? ( I might be wrong, this is just from Googling). In any case, does anybody know how I can downgrade or change the Database so that the user can open it? 0 Question by:Unifrax Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 14 Best Solution byThomasMcA2 ODS is just the internal structure of the file. It doesn't matter that the file never existed in the v.8 format. A v.9 client or server can "speak" v.8, which is what allows it to revert a v.9 structure Go to Solution 5 Comments LVL 14 Overall: Level 14 Lotus IBM 5 Message Expert Comment by:ThomasMcA22015-06-02 Compacting the database with ncompact.exe -R will revert the ODS to the previous version. 0 Message Author Comment by:Unifrax2015-06-02 Tried that but still get the Invalid.nsf error This is running from the 8.5.3FP6 client. If they have multiple devices connected to Traveler then it is neccessary to get the device ID for the affected device. To do this run the Domino server console command "tell traveler show " to list their settings as below: Traveler: IBM Traveler has validated that it can access the database mail/jdoe.nsf. KB3159706 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3159706) seems to have caused the issue. Uninstalling the update (WUSA.exe uninstall /kb:3159706) has fixed the issue. The file was copied from a production server, and the production server is running a higher version of Domino than the test server. I may be completely wrong, but you've not given enough details here for anything other than a wild guess. In any case, my thought process is that the server itself wouldn't run if files like names.nsr or log.nsf had an invalid version, so we're looking for a file that only registration cares about, and that would likely be the mail file. –Richard Schwartz May 27 '15 at 12:34 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote You don't tell much abou

The Veritas Documentation says that this typically means that we have a version of Domino not supported. The Veritas Documentation also says that any version of Domino after 5.0.4 is supported. We have 5.0.11 which newer than 5.0.4. Help. More info, when installing the Domino Agent it told me that it didn't recognize Domino on the local server.
