Notes Error Remote Pathname Must Be Relative To Data Directory
Running Compact -a compact; -a; Remote path must be relative to data directory; remote; path; relative; data; directory Technote (troubleshooting) Problem You have deployed server-based archiving through a policy. When Compact -a runs against user's mail files to archive documents and then compact the database, the following error appears on the server console: "Remote path must be relative to data directory" The documents that meet the archive criteria are written to the archive database, however they are not removed from the user's mail file. Resolving the problem In this case, when the policy was deployed, the server-based archive criteria settings were pushed down; however, the user's existing client-based archive settings were also modified to reflect the following: "These archive criteria settings copy all documents not modified after X days to your archive on c:\lotus\notes\data\archive\a_username.nsf on
to the Data directory' DBDIRMAN.NSF; Replication; Fails; lotus domino server; mail path; error; Remote pathnames must be relative to the Data directory Technote (troubleshooting) Problem After designating a SAN drive from H:\ to E:\, your Lotus Domino server replication task fails with the error "Remote pathnames must be relative to the Data directory". 04/26/2010 11:22:54 AM Remote console command issued by Domino https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21170775 Admin /Lotus/USA: Replicate MailServer01/Lotus/USA mail\MailFile.nsf Replicate MailServer01/Lotus/USA mail\MailFile.nsf 04/26/2010 11:22:56 AM Database Replicator started 04/26/2010 11:22:56 AM Replicator is set to Ignore Database Quotas 04/26/2010 11:22:56 AM Starting replication with server MailServer01/Lotus/USA 04/26/2010 11:22:56 AM Unable to replicate MailServer01/Lotus/USA H:\Notes\Data\mail\MailFile.nsf Remote pathnames must be relative to the Data directory 04/26/2010 11:22:56 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21429412 AM Finished replication with server MailServer01/Lotus/USA 04/26/2010 11:22:56 AM Database Replicator shutdown When looking at the directory in the Domino Administration client, all appears to be correct, and the mail file is visible. If new files are created, replication occurs between the new replicas as expected. Cause In one case, the DBDIRMAN.NSF listed the old directory structure referencing the H:\Notes\Data\mail path instead of the E:\Notes\Data\mail path. Resolving the problem Stop the Domino server and rename the DBDIRMAN.NSF to DBDIRMAN.OLD, then restart the server. When the server restarts, it will recreate the DBDIRMAN.NSF with the correct path information for the server. The path have to be related to your Notes or Domino data installation path. Suppose you have install Notes software in C:\LOTUS\NOTES\ and your NSF data in D:\LOTUS\DATA So If you want to acces a file present in D:\LOTUS\DATA\MyFolder\MyNSFToReach.NSF, your acces path will be "MyFolder\MyNSFToReach.NSF" An example in LS
