Notes Error - You must be in Edit Mode to change the value of a field.Posted by Henry Chua on 13.May.03 at 03:50 AM using a Web browserCategory: Domino Designer -- ViewsRelease: 5.0.9aPlatform: Windows 2000 In my Form_PostOpen event, I have some FieldSetText statements. All this while, there is no problem at all. But today, I do not know why I keep getting this error "Notes Error - You must be in Edit Mode to change the value of a field." on my view. Others are not getting this error, except me. I cannot even click at other record on the view as it will display that error. I did a script debug and found that the problem lie on the PostOpen event. But, I do not think that this is the caused of the problem as I do not have this problem all this while, except today. I also cannot remove those FieldSetText statements in the PostOpen event as they are required. Any hint ? Regards, Henry Return to top Notes Error - You must be in Edit M... The most recent change I made was the addition of 2 embedded views in the default form. I really don't want to roll back (as it would be hard to explain anyhow) so I was wondering if anyone knew what this error could mean. There's no special code in my views that executions on selection http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/b78bf11325c74ca1852570600004c501?OpenDocument of documents, yet the error occurs. Strangely enough, the error didn't occur during testing or at first for many users, but now pops up here and there on clients, some users do not experience the error. form with one section (SectA) I need to hide in some cases. I compute the condition in the PostOpen event. http://www.verycomputer.com/22_7a6fa0f41d3809a3_1.htm I use a field in order to save the result (SectAIsOn) of hiding or not : Sub Postopen(Source As Notesuidocument) Call Source.FieldSetText ("SectAIsOn ", "1") End Sub In the http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/feature/Troubleshooting-common-Lotus-Notes-Domino-error-messages section and section's text I use the formula : SectAIsOn = "0" for hiding. The pb is that when I try to access a document it says : "Notes Error - notes error You must be in Edit mode to change the value of a field" Why have I done wrong ? Is there another way to hide the information ?
