Final Cut Pro - Fire Error: Unknown File Hey guys, I am having an issue with saving in final cut pro, I get alot of work done, then after I want to save it, it says "File Error:unknown File" http://www.mac-forums.com/showthread.php?t=51880 It only happens (so far) when working with DVCAM, and does not do this while working in any other format. I really need to straighten this issue out because its slowing me down in my work. I have tried everything including deleting the .plist files for final cut, and repairing permisions.. next step if nobody here can help me is to reformat and put all my work on an external. I have attached a screen shot of my problem below, if anybody knows why this is happenening it would be greatly appricieated since I have no clue why. Alarm bells should go off final cut pro if the file size is unreasonably small. Reply Quote pd Re: What is File Error Unknown Volume? HELP! September 01, 2005 01:14PM hey I think everything is back together again, thank you very much, do you know why this happened? thanks again pd Reply Quote derekmok Re: What is File Error Unknown Volume? The most common cause I've seen is if your project file is already open and then you change the name of the file in Finder, which results in FCP trying to save to a file that no longer exists. That doesn't seem to be what you had, though. But I'd take a careful look at your external drive -- is it properly formatted (Mac OS Extended)? Have you run Disk First Aid and DiskWarrior on it?
