I called the rental house for the G4 I'm using and they say it does indeed have an AGC Graphics Card. They told me to contact FCP support. Getting that # has been a failure for me, so if anyone has the number or a possible solution, it would be greatly appreciated. AGP graphics card needed on a MacBook Pro? by Alan Langdon on Aug 18, 2006 at 8:44:15 pm I have just bought https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/902807 a MacBook 1.1 (Intel Core Duo) 2 GHZ 1 Gb RAM as well as Final Cut HD 4.5. I am running Tiger 10.4.6. Why can't I run FCP 4.5 HD? When I launch the https://macosx.com/threads/final-cut-pro-asks-for-agp-card-on-startup.265936/ program, it says : CONFIGURATION ERROR This software certain hardware or software which is missing. * AGP Graphics card Is this what I believe it is? Do I have to buy FCP 5? final cut Any info much appreciated! AlanReturn to posts indexReport Post •Re: URGENT! AGP graphics card needed on a MacBook Pro?by Zak Mussig on Aug 18, 2006 at 8:59:14 pmAlan, I may be wrong here, but I believe FCP isn't supported on the MacBook... only the MacBook Pro. They've decided to really draw the line between consumer and pro hardware and software. For what it's worth, you could run final cut pro FCE. I know you don't want to run FCE... you want to run your copy of FCP that you already own. I'd be pissed too if someone told me that. Sorry man... hope I'm wrong. Ed This from Apple: Final Cut Pro 4 through Final Cut Pro HD 4.5 require a computer with an AGP video card for installation. PowerMac G5 (Late 2005) models (released October 19, 2005) and iMac G5 (iSight) models feature newer PCI Express video cards. Because of this, you can't install Final Cut Pro 4.x on these computers. Final Cut Pro 4.x is not supported on these computers. Final Cut Pro 3.x and earlier do not work in Max OS X 10.4 Tiger. Because Power Mac G5 (Late 2005) and iMac G5 (iSight) models require Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later, you can't install Final Cut Pro 3.x or earlier versions on these computers. Final Cut Pro 3.x and earlier versions are not supported on any computer running Mac OS X 10.4. To use Final Cut Pro on P

Everything seems to have installed ok, but when I try to run the program it comes up with an error message "Hardware not found: AGP graphics card". I find this perplexing since the same Final Cut Pro ran just fine on my G4 500Mhz tower. I think my iMac G5 has an ATI Radeon X600 Pro card. Any ideas as to why it is looking for the "AGP card" or why it won't work without it? Is there any easy way to fix this? Is there some configuration in hardware or FCPro that I can adjust? Prime Joined: Aug 22, 2001 Messages: 14,533 Likes Received: 17 Your iMac does not have an AGP graphics slot or an AGP graphics card -- it's all PCI Express now. You can manually get around this by editing the Info.plist file inside of the Final Cut Express application and editing out the key/pair for the AGP card. There were instructions on how to do this on the internet not too long ago... I can't find them now, but will keep looking, and in the meantime, perhaps some kind soul will chime in with instructions on how to do it. #2 ElDiabloConCaca, Jan 5, 2006 karavite uix_expand uix_collapse Registered Joined: Mar 27, 2001 Messages: 1,196 Likes Received: 0 Zeddah, I am a kind soul now and then, but I don't have an answer for you! Still, I am really surprised that an Apple software product would require what is essentially a hack to run on a new/up to date Mac. It makes no sense and is just not right. Any calls into Apple on this
